First off, please excuse the corny title. I honestly could not help myself.

SO! Raids. We haven't been doing them for a while. I for one would like to do them. I know others in the guild do too, but not a lot of us know how. So, I'll be starting to organize raids.

What the Raid is:
This however is not your typical raid. We are a learning group. What this means is, you don't need experience, this is where you get it.

BUT! Everyone who's willing to go, has to do their due diligence. I will break it down in detail later, as I need to go over the finer details with the officers.

No Man Left Behind:
The coles notes on it is, we enter as a group, and will be held accountable as a group. If the tank is failing, it is up to the whole raid to help him get better, same for DPS, and healing. If you find a video or blogs or whatever which gives info on doing that, post it! Let the raid group know about it.

Membership:
Now, we will not be limiting people who are just in the guild. They will take priority obviously, but if you have friends in other guilds who want to go, and can make a commitment, they're welcome. I will be honest, and this we're also looking to use this a recruitment tool to get some fresh blood. And raiding is a great way to get to know someone prior to inviting them. So keep that in mind.

That being said, if you're a new guildie and want to join, but a non-guildie is taking your spot, but has invested a large amount of their time, well they get priority.

Hitting Your Head Against the Wall:
We are all here to have fun. And frankly I've been in many situations where a group was made to stay and beat their head against the wall for the sake progression. Frankly, that's BS. Sometimes the best thing is walk away, take a breather and try again at a later time. We will obviously vote on it and play it by ear. But I want the learning experience to be fun. Which leads me to..

Entertainment is where you find it:
We're going to make this fun by any means necessary. Whether it's "lets all get drunk before we do this run to see what happens" or "1000 Gil Alter gets one shot on the boss in under 5 minutes" is how we accomplish this, then so shall we do it. We are a goofy lot, so lets be goofy!

Scheduling:
That's to be determined. We're all busy, and have lives. So we will decide as a group to have a floating day, or a static day.

Speak up:
So speak up if you wish to join, and if you have any ideas you wish to add. Let me know here or in game. I'll post later after I've had a chance to speak to officers on specifics on how to handle the raid, to see if they're cool with it.

Criticism and Feedback:
With a learning raid, there will be criticism and feedback. So be sure to bring that mind set. But also be polite about it. We should all be doing our best to be polite about criticism, and we should be doing our best to accept it. I don't want to see "DPS needs to pick up their game" I want to see "Hey DPS I noticed you doing X, maybe Y would be something to try", or something like that. If you find you can't be polite, then tell me, I'll relay the info. But as I said above, we're a team, so if one group is failing, we should all do what we can to help!

That's it for now, I'm looking forward to hearing from you.
